    Responsibilities and Qualifications

    The Assistant Office Manager is responsible for the financial condition of the dealership, and directing the overall financial planning, budgeting and accounting practices. As with all positions within dealerships, controller/business managers are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards. 



    • Assist in overseeing the financial and accounting system and personnel of the office

    • Assist in preparing monthly budgets and financial statements

    • Assist in forecasting financial goals for each quarter to maintain the dealership’s profitability

    • Assist in processing all insurance claims and liability insurance

    • Review all financial statements and ledgers, and collaborate with the accounting staff to clear up any discrepancies

    • Meet with the staff regularly to go over business matters and develop plans to increase profitability

    • Assistant Office Managers should have strong communication, customer service, leadership and organizational skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, or the equivalent, is expected and familiarity with additional accounting software programs is valued

    • Previous automotive experience required

    • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience

    • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required

    • College Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred (mathematics, business and accounting coursework beneficial)

    • Some dealerships may require a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

    • Must be at least eighteen years of age

    • Must be able to pass pre employment screens (background and drug test)
